One simple tip to keep up with the changing social media platforms

It seems like the Google algorithms and the social media platforms are on a head to head with who can change and evolve the fastest. Take the latest change on Facebook for example, it weeds out all the inactive/ fake user page likes. Although this change actually helps businesses by ensuring that the page content reaches out to relevant people effectively, many digital marketers were actually distraught at the prospect of having to change their strategy to accommodate this change.

Other social media outlets such as twitter, pinterest and Google plus are implementing changes at their own pace, and it pays to keep an eye out on the changes and plan ahead for contingencies. Social media marketing is an integral part of the digital marketing era and it is high time we learned to suck it up and learn to keep up with these changes and implement a dynamic marketing module in order to survive this cutthroat competition.

Well there is one simple trick to tackle this problem, which can be summed up in two simple words- “be aware”. Most of these changes are usually made public in a large-scale manner. Subscribe to the official blogs of the social media platforms (yes, they do exist!) you largely use. Following the updates will give you a heads up on any future changes, new acquisitions and other parameters based on which you can predict the direction in which the social media site is heading. This way, when the actual change does happen, you will not be shocked and surprised, rather ready with an arsenal of tools to comply with the changing face of social media. Good luck!
